Learning about mountains, dawn on Lingmoor, April 2011Learning about mountains, dawn on Lingmoor.
Langdale CE Primary School is a village school situated in the centre of the Lake District.  We aim to make learning adventurous, to equip children with the attitudes and aptitudes to succeed in life, and to give them connections and understanding of the wider world. The school ensures that it maximises its unique location to support children’s learning (especially Outdoor Learning), and to help it come alive.  This might be through the history curriculum, when learning about the Vikings, artwork in the local gallery and studio in Cylinders Wood, swimming lessons at the local Timeshare, or a very high standard of outdoor, and adventurous learning.  We publish ‘probably the least boring school newspaper you are ever likely to read’ (Gerald Haigh, TES), the Langdale School Express. You can watch a short video slide show about Learning in Langdale, our 2014 Christmas Play “Babushka”, and links to recent Trips, Residentials and Events.
