Welcome

Independent Journey, June 2010

Langdale CE Primary School is a village school situated in the centre of the Lake District.  We aim to make learning adventurous, to equip children with the attitudes and aptitudes to succeed in life, and to give them connections and understanding of the wider world.
The school ensures that it maximises its unique location to support children’s learning, and to help it come alive.  This might be through the history curriculum, when learning about the Vikings, artwork in the local gallery and studio in Cylinders Wood, swimming at the local Timeshare for everyone, every week, or a very high standard of outdoor, and adventurous learning.  We publish ‘probably the least boring school newspaper you are ever likely to read’ (Gerald Haigh, TES), which can be found in an electronic format elsewhere on the website.
Children and parents can start to be part of school from any age, with our staffed Forest Nursery Sessions.  In addition, there is also an after school club that runs 5 days a week, until 5.30pm.
